Electric Power in Electrical Engineering

Image
The Electric Power or Energy In simple words, It is the rate at which electrical energy consumed or absorbed or transferred by an electrical circuit. Electric Power or Electrical energy can be provided by batteries or Electric Generators & Power can be consumed by the load connected to the circuit. In other words, Electric Power is also defined as the product of voltage and current in an electric circuit. The SI unit of Electric Power is watt and which means one joule per second. For the measurement of electric power or connected load, we used the watt-meter. The electrical power measured in KWh in energy meter in which Units counts as per connected load.  If 1000 watts consumed in one hour by connected load then it will be 1 unit in energy wattmeter. We can say 1 KWh is equal to 1 unit. There are three types of Electric Power:  (i) Actual or Real Power  (ii) Apparent Power (iii) Reactive Power (i) Actual or Real Power:  Actual power is the product of the...

Voltage

What is Voltage? A Complete Beginner's Guide What is Voltage? A Complete Beginner's Guide Voltage is a fundamental concept in the world of electricity and electronics. Whether you're a student, a DIY enthusiast, or someone curious about how electricity works, understanding voltage is essential. In this post, we will explore what voltage is , how it works, and why it plays a crucial role in electric circuits. What is Voltage? Voltage, also known as electric potential difference or electric pressure , is the force that pushes electric charges (electrons) to move through a conductor. It can be defined as the potential difference between two points in an electrical circuit. In simple terms, voltage is the reason why electric current flows . It is the energy per unit charge that drives electrons from one point to another in a circuit. The Science Behind Voltage To understand voltage better, let’s look at the atomic level. ...

Basic Electrical Engineering

🔌 Basics of Electrical – Understanding Electricity and Ohm’s Law Whether you're a beginner, a student, or just curious about how electricity works, this guide will help you understand the basic principles of electrical engineering , including electricity, current, voltage, resistance , and the famous Ohm’s Law . ⚡ What is Electricity? Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the movement of electrons through a conductor. In simple words, electricity is the flow of electric charge in a closed circuit . Key Concept: “Electricity flows from the positive (+) terminal to the negative (–) terminal in a complete electrical circuit.” 🔁 Electric Current: Definition and Unit Electric current (I) is the rate at which electric charge flows through a conductor. Unit: Ampere (A) Instrument to Measure: Ammeter Imagine water flowing through a pipe. The amount of water flowing per second is like electric current . ⚡ Voltage: Electrical Pressure Voltage (V) is t...
